Final (crown) impression setup
Also called: VPS impression setup, final impression
Setup for an accurate impression of a crown prep with VPS material.
For a crown or bridge, the lab needs a very accurate impression. Retraction cord is placed, then light-body material is put around the prepared tooth through a small tip while heavy-body material fills a tray (often a triple tray). The patient bites or the tray is held until it sets. Every office's tray list is a little different; this is a common example. Follow your office's tray card.
