Operator's zone

Also called: dentist's zone

Where the dentist or hygienist sits: about 7 to 12 o'clock (right-handed).

For a right-handed operator, the operator's zone runs from about 7 to 12 o'clock. The operator moves within it depending on which arch and tooth are being treated.

What it is used for

  • Keep this area clear of carts and hoses so the operator can move.
