Lab vibrator
Also called: model vibrator, stone vibrator
A small shaking platform that removes air bubbles when pouring stone.
A lab vibrator is a small box with a rubber-topped platform that shakes. Holding the mixing bowl or impression on it helps air bubbles rise out of mixed plaster or stone and lets the mix flow into every detail of the impression.
How to spot it
- A small box with a flat rubber or plastic top and a speed dial.
What it is used for
- Pour stone into a disinfected impression a little at a time while it sits on the vibrator.
Safety and care
- Cover the top with a barrier or clean and disinfect it after use; follow the manufacturer's instructions.
